In life, everything is a balancing act. The same holds true for wifi, you want to balance how far apart you place wifi units as the distance directly impacts the speed available for your devices. The picture below shows that as you move further away from your router or Milo, the speed also decreases. So you don't want to place a Milo too far away from your router or another Milo.
Tip: If you have two amber lights on a Milo, it is too far away and you need to move it. Just a few feet can make a huge difference allowing you to get two green lights on the Milo.
You want to find that sweet spot of around 65% of your max existing wifi speed as the distance to start placing your Milo Base. You don't want to go too far away because then you will not have the needed speed in the dead zones in your house. Our Quick Start Guide will walk you through the process. Please also remember that you don't need your top speed everywhere that you didn't have wifi coverage. You just need good consistent wif where you didn't have it before.
