The Milo mobile app will walk you straight through the quick and easy wireless set-up process. But if you need a refresher, you've come to the right place!
(If you're looking for wired connection setup instructions, head over here.)
You will need:
- Milo base (1)
- Milo points (1 or 2)
- Power cords (2 or 3)
- No Ethernet cable required
Step one: Set up the base.
First off, make sure your modem/router is powered on and connected to the Internet.
Next, use the power cord that comes with your Milo base to plug it into a power outlet (up to 40 feet away from your router) in the direction of where you need reliable wifi coverage. The blue light will show when your Milo is successfully powered on.
Step two: Connect to the network.
Find the default network name (SSID) and passcode located on the bottom of the Milo. On your device’s wifi settings, select that same network name (SSID) and enter the default passcode to connect to your Milo base.
Then on the Milo mobile app, select your existing router network in order to connect the Milo system to your router.
The Milo base's lights will flash while a connection is being established. After up to a few minutes, the green light should glow solid. If it does not, there was a problem connecting. For troubleshooting help, click here.
Step three: Add the points.
Plug the first Milo point into an outlet up to 40 feet away from the base, in the direction of another area where you’d like more wifi coverage. The lights will flash as Milo searches for a connection. This might take several minutes.
If an excellent connection is found, the green light glows solid. If a good connection is found, the amber light will glow solid.
If neither light illuminates, there was a problem connecting. Try moving the point closer to the Milo base, or place another point somewhere in between, until the green or amber light glows solid. For tips on where to place your Milos, click here!
Repeat this step for any remaining points.
That's it! Milo is now up and running. Enjoy your shiny new wifi!
